This was an episode of Black Mirror t.v. series that I watched and loved. It was both a deeply disturbing and emotive episode. It was one of those shows that you remember. Maybe its because I grew up in the 80’s, but this one was memorable. I haven’t watched much t.v. in a long while, and the other Black mirror shows I’ve seen (while good), were a little bleak, this one was a combinaton of happy and sad. A beautiful and touching love story. I liked it alot. It has stuck in my memory.

This is also very representive of living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. There is great strength in what many people assume is weakness. Some of the strongest people I’ve ever met had this disease. I would personally add, For all the ignorant people out there who have felt the need to judge or offer up ignorant opinions and false advice take your shot, go ahead…I no longer care. Lets just hope Karma doesn’t catch up with you.

Lucy Liu and me:

If she hadn’t already been named Toto would’ve been good, she looks JUST like the dog in original ‘Wizard of Oz’. (or I might’ve been tempted to persuade my parents to name her ‘Alf’ , (from the ’80’s sitcom), Gizmo, or Chewbaca/Chewy.

She’s probably lucky she was already named! Lucy, Lucy Liu, or Lu Lu all suit her. She’s such a sweet girl.

Some glass plates I painted for gifts:This is easy to do but you will need paints for glass. I have had my paints for a long time and am trying to use up what I have. The plates are something I already had but never used. I have seen you can buy glass plates at the dollar tree (or at a thrift store, I’m a firm believer in upcycling), and this will keep the costs down. Most arts and craft stores will sell glass paint. You only need the primary colors really…then mix away!

They look better in person, these are the ones I haven’t sold. I sold a few and donated the proceeds to the MSPCA, to help out a pitbull named Kenny. I’m not sure it will go to him per se, but regardless it was a small donation that just cost me a little time to help out the animals.

One of the that I sold , must’ve deleted the other photos

The pattern instructions for the above crochet scarf post. I ‘tried’ to make a descriptive video for this (unfortunately I don’t think I’m a great teacher, but it will be very easy to understand if you already crochet a little). The pattern was one of Debbie Stollers patterns , the author of ‘The stitch and bitch’ book series. I think I found her pattern video on ‘creativebug’ website awhile back. Once you have made it a couple of times, it is easily commited to memory even for people like me, who don’t remember much! (This is my first video posted to my blog, It figures I had to have the most uncomplimentary still shot at the beginning, it actually makes me laugh. Between the light sensitivity and the grimace, it looks like I was waiting at the DMV and had my drivers licence photo taken, though even that photo is better! lol)

A couple of quick christmas gift ideas to make: I made these for some of my friends. 3 projects: Crochet scarf, crochet bookmarks and knit christmas tree decorations. The little tree’s could be used in a number of ways, a few : as a tree decoration, strung together for a garland, attached to a gift, put in a christmas card, make a pin, attach as an applique to personalize a practical gift, like towels, food gifts, kitchen mits. etc…etc… I’ll TRY to upload an instructional video for the scarf and the bookmarks, the Christmas tree instructions can be found on youtube, Look up: ‘How to knit a Christmas tree’ by So Wooly. This womans instructions are very clear and she has such a calming voice, very pleasant to watch and easy to understand. I just thought I’d share in case anyone is looking for a few little last minute gifts to knit or crochet (that aren’t too time consuming, especially the tree’s and bookmarks).

Our newest family member: Lucy Liu

She is actually my parents dog, (but I get to share her). She came with the name Lucy and I added Liu (like the american actress, whom I like),. She’s a tiny little thing and has a super sweet disposition . She’s been through a lot of unsettling changes but seems so happy to be here with us now and already after only one day, seems settled and relaxed. . Her personality and looks couldn’t be more different than our beloved Jakey, which is good, as we won’t ever be able to compare her. Her little tail never stops wagging and she just wants to be pet, have her belly rubbed, give kisses and follow us around. She gets excited by the smallest things. I’m so happy my parents rescued her. She’s 7 and has had too much upheaval in her life. It’s nice to see her so happy and relaxed. My mom is already dressing her. Notice the pink scarf- and my parents just got her a new pink harness and purple coat, which the dog seemed happy about. She apparently knows all about getting dressed up and ‘looking pretty’.
