Daily Challenge: Paper Airplane

Oil

This was day 3 in the Daily Painting Challenge (challenge list created by artist Erika Lee Sears). If there are fellow artists looking at my website, her daily practice list is pretty fun. I have also done the Inktober Challenge (also fun) by Jake Parker. (more on that later. It takes place in October, hence the name).

Anyways, this was a really odd subject matter for me to paint. On my own I would never choose to paint this subject. That being said, it was kind of fun!

The following is an excerpt I liked from John Hollands book “Born Knowing”:

…”you’re giving her “memory days” she continued…..John some days come and some days go, “she quickly replied. “People don’t realize that every day is a new beginning and a chance to start over. There are days that people remember forever, while other days simply slip away into their yesterdays and tomorrows. You never know when you’re giving someone a “Memory Day”. It can be an act of kindness, a trip to the country, or something as simple as helping an elderly woman with her groceries. People remember certain days for the rest of their lives”. “We take these memories with us when we pass, she said, “and I do believe that we review our lives with all our faults and accomplishments. Why not have the best memories by our side, and try to give good ones to whomever we can?’

Set a dream before you,

If a dream can be shared,

Watch it become a reality

-John Holland (psychic medium)

Some favorite quotes for today, by the very wise woman, Jane Goodall:

“Every individual matters.  Every individual has a role to play.  Every individual makes a difference”  -Jane Goodall

“It has been proven that plants are good for our psychological development. If you green an area, the rate of crime goes down. Torture victims begin to recover when they spend time outside in a garden with flowers. So we need them in some deep psychological sense, which I don’t suppose anybody really understands yet” -Jane Goodall

“From my perspective, I absolutely believe in a greater spiritual power, far greater than I am, from which I have derived strength in moments of sadness and fear. That’s what I believe and it was very, very strong in the forest” -Jane Goodall
